Coach Joe Hammaker
Joe Hammaker grew up in Hollidaysburg. Pennsylvania. During his high school years he was a wrestler, played football and swam for the local YMCA. He graduated from Hollidaysburg High School. After he graduation he went to Lock Haven University. During his college years, he wrestled for the Lock Haven University Eagles and won numerous awards, in addition to placing 4th at Nationals. In 1958 he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Studies and Driver Education. He worked for 2 years for the Lock Haven School District before accepting a teaching position at Penns Valley in 1960. While at Penns Valley he was the Head Coach of the varsity wrestling team, as well as an Assistant Coach to Doug Nieble. In addition, he also coached Ram football. He retired from the Penns Valley School District in 1993 after 33 years of service. Joe and his wife Vicki live in Centre Hall. They have 3 children, Hope, Mark, and Faith, and are blessed with 6 grandchildren.
Max Dinges
Max Dinges grew up in Coburn, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Penns Valley High School in 1963. During his high school years, he wrestled and played football. Max had tremendous success on the wrestling team. He is the only wrestler in Penns Valley history who holds the title of District Champion, Regional Champion, and State Champion. Max won all 3 titles in 1963. After graduating from high school, Max went to work at Piper Aircraft in Lock Haven. After leaving Piper Aircraft, he worked for Penn DOT. Max retired from Penn DOT after several years. Max and his wife Martha live in Coburn. They have 2 children, Troy and Tawnya, and are blessed with 4 grandchildren.
